After completing a two-year course at the Kazakhfilm studio, Dimash Akhimov began acting in films in 1968. Over his 48-year acting career, he starred in more than 100 films and TV series across 13 studios in countries of the former USSR, as well as abroad, including Czechoslovakia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Japan, India, Iran, and others. He currently resides in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
His work in the film industry was recognized with the title "Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR" in 1990, and in 2008, he was awarded the "Order of Kurmet."
