He completed his education up to high school in Çayeli . He moved to Istanbul with his family due to his father's transfer. He studied at Taksim Atatürk High School and Maritime College respectively. After graduating from high school, he started his acting career in the Children's Department of Istanbul City Theater. He started working as a voice assistant in the 1950s. He directed many films until 1979. Afterwards, he played in Istanbul City Theaters until his retirement in 1994. His funeral was held in Aşiyan Cemetery .
